Our Community's most valuable asset is our highway network; it is extremely important that we manage proactively. Maintaining good roads requires progressive pavement management "the right treatment to the right road at the right time". Working the right programs we will achieve our community's pavement condition goals.

General Responsibilities
The Town of Blooming Grove Highway Department is responsible for submitting highway budget, driveway permits, snow and ice removal, highway inventory, crew management, signs, ditching, asphalt patching, crack sealing, culvert cleaning and repair, catch basin maintenance, tree and brush, chip sealing, guard rail, mowing road reconstruction and all general road maintenance. Answering concerns and questions promptly.

Winter Information (Rules and Laws)
No parking on Town of Blooming Grove roads at any time from November 1-April 15, all vehicles left on roadways will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's risk and expense.

Chapter 214 of Town Highway Law allows for $100.00 penalty for depositing snow and ice on any road or highway.  In addition, Highway Law, section 319, article 11, states that municipalities are not responsible for damage to any mailboxes. However, if a Town of Blooming Grove plow directly hits and damages a mailbox, the Town will replace with a standard issue white or black box and a single 4x4 post.  If you believe this has happened to your mailbox, please call the Highway Department at 496-3816. (If a mailbox is damaged from snow coming off a plow, the Town will not replace the mailbox).

The Town of Blooming Grove Highway Department is on call 24 hours a day year round.
